The meeting will take place on the ground of ENGELscher Hof in Roebel, with a nice courtyard, accommodation, seminar rooms, an exhibition about Jewish history in this region and an old synagogue – open for events.

The town Roebel was already in the 13th century an important place between the towns Schwerin and Havelberg and has nowadays about 6000 inhabitants. The town Roebel is near the Mueritz which is Germany’s biggest lake. Roebel is well-known and appreciated beyond the borders of Germany for its sailing competitions, water sports and as government approved health resort. Inspiring trails lead hikers and cyclists away from Roebel/Mueritz, along old oak trees and Megalithic gravesites to the typical mansions of this region. In Roebel you can find the Mueritz-Therme, an indoor-swimming-pool opened all year through. Topic:
Work: On behalf of the Council of Europe the European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) publishes an annual report putting out data, trends and developments in ethnic and racial discrimination. Referring to these publications, we would like to make people aware that racism and xenophobia is not only a problem in Europe but a global concern. Through our project we seek to contribute to prevention and fight against such inhumanity. Together with international volunteers we want to implement a youth meeting that forms the framework for participants to deal intensely with this subject. This project is supposed to create awareness for and alert participants to different forms and fields in which discrimination occurs, enabling them to identify and understand discriminating instants.
During the project participants will create postcards in different designs that should illustrate a calling for moral courage against racism and xenophobia. It will be realized by different working groups for the development of the postcard layouts, the organisation of printing and public relation.
The exact tasks that will be undertaken will vary and volunteers are expected to be flexible in the activities they do and be prepared to participate in all of the tasks fully.

Accommodation: The volunteers will stay in a house. Linen will be provided. Wireless LAN is available.
Food: Food is included and will be prepared by participants; for national evenings please bring typical food from your country
Leisure time activities: excursions are planned, short trips to nearby towns, swimming,…
Further requirements: Please bring computer (laptop) and camera as possible, drafts, other materials, musical instruments, typical food for national and international evenings, motivation and good humour. And of course your tickets for:
Travel reimbursement This project is granted by the EYF. Travel costs for participants will be repaid up to 70%; for travel reimbursement it’s important to arrive and leave on exact dates (20.06. and 29.06.).
Insurance insurance covers health’s emergency, accidents, damages to people/things and is included
